Oh, too true. I don't see anything else in there that I recognize that sinks to that level.
I have some books that I bought with good intentions, but the intentions are still unrealized, or I've tried, but not hard enough. Some are on that list.
But Satanic Verses I bought with the clear intention of putting it on the shelf and not reading it. I have read other Rushdie and am not hankering for more, but since people died to publish that book, I figured I ought to buy a copy. If I hear of more related deaths, I'll have to actually read it. :<{
