Very Brief Election Thoughts
Nov. 8th, 2006 08:27 amSo...Virginia returned a Democrat to the Senate. The wind's been blowing that way recently, with a lot of very apparent dissatisfaction with the current administration in general, but I really wasn't sure if it would actually happen.
Something I found very interesting is that, as of five minutes ago, Webb won by about 8,000 votes, while the independent candidate got 26,000 votes overall. That seems like a lot of votes for an independent candidate around here, especially when the gap between the two main candidates was so small.
Probably the most exciting state election I can remember.
(And on a Pennsylvania note...take that, Rick Santorum!)
