Today, on wild America...

I was washing dishes in the kitchen and just happened to look out the window above the sink. At first I thought it was a brown dog running madly in circles in my backyard. Then I saw the tail and realized it was a little fawn! It was so cute, all legs and spots.

Mama was hanging out on the far right of my yard in the woods behind the neighbors fence. She was clearly keeping an eye on her baby without joining in the fun herself.

The fawn would do a few circuits in the backyard then run back to its mother, leap into the woods, and then come out to do donuts in my yard again. I managed to call Katrina over to watch, although I don't know if she realized how amazing it was to see this in her backyard.
