And the plague spreads...
Feb. 22nd, 2014 06:54 pmSo I am finally better. The fever broke Wednesday night and yesterday I didn't wake up exhausted. So yay!
Of course now Katrina and Robs are both sick. Coughs, intermittent fevers, outrageous cranky-pantsy-ness, and Katrina says her hips hurt. They seem to be trending upward, but I'm anticipating a few more days of sickness.
Robs woke up at midnight last night and it took me three hours to settle him, poor little guy. He'd fall asleep as soon as I'd hold him, then wake up screaming when I tried to leave the room. I wanted to just take him into bed with me, but Bruce is a deep as well as restless sleeper and I could just see him smacking Robs or rolling over on him in his sleep. So not a good night for me.
I'm catching up on the mountain of laundry we amassed while I was sick, and planning an attack on the basement, which looks like an episode of Hoarders waiting to happen. (Not really, but it feels like it to me. I can sense the piles of boxes silently reproaching me as I sit on the couch. It's very judgmental clutter.)
Wow, I am boring myself right now.
Bruce's brother is getting married May 31. He's been dating this woman for several years, though I only met her once or twice. I'm a little prejudiced because I was always Christian's safe person to complain to whenever she got on his nerves, so I've only ever heard the bad things about their relationship. I hope it's a good step for both of them, not just one of those "oh shit I'm 35, better get married" things. They asked Katrina to be a flower girl (one of four I think!!) and Robs to be ring bearer. God knows what she'll want to dress them in, I don't know what her taste is or how big her family likes to do things for weddings.
I need to go finish supper for me and Bruce. I'm making orange chicken with broccoli from a recipe off of Pinterest. I did a really good ginger pork and asparagus last week, and this seems similar enough in execution that I have high hopes. I cheat by roasting the meat in the oven, rather than slicing it raw and cooking stovetop. It saves a ton of hands-on time, which tends to be at a premium around here in the evenings.
