I thought I lost my keys this morning. Turns out they were in my bra, which I was wearing at the time. I'm still not sure how I managed not to notice.

In other news, Bruce's mother seems blithely unaware of how much she is alienating her oldest son. If we don't get this house because of her crap, I don't think he'll ever speak to her again.

I will never get why sometimes family members have to make things much more difficult than they ever need to be. I'm sorry his mom is being such a pill.

I'm just so glad I live 350 miles away now! I can handle a lot of bullshit from that distance. ;-)

She is one of the main reasons we moved. I'm tired of making excuses to myself for why she is so manipulative and selfish and nasty to Bruce. I just don't need it.

She apparently really enjoys conflict and yelling and drama. It's miserable. Plus she likes being in control, which is what I think this whole not giving people the information they request thing is.

I've done that too- once they warm up I stop noticing them. Until they shift. Owie.

Oh, dear. What's she doing?

Not sending the tax paperwork the mortgage folks need. I think she's sent the minimum by this point, but there was no need to drag it out for two weeks.

Oh, joy. Just what you needed right now. Not.

I have a sister like your mother. She's a lot easier to avoid than a mother would be. My sympathies.

It's Bruce's mother, thank goodness. Mine is a different type of crazy (mostly dedicated to making me feel miserable about how fat/unattractive/useless I am).

Bruce's folks are a big reason we moved away.

Yeah, there's a reason I live 2000 miles away from my relatives [wry g].

Do you like mysteries? Kerry Greenwood's Corinna Chapman mysteries feature a main character dealing with similar issues, splendidly eccentric neighbors, distinctive cats, & great food porn. Even aside from the satisfaction of seeing someone who looks like us [i.e., well-rounded, in more ways than one ;)] represented, they're good stories with some of the best food porn ever.
