Nov. 14th, 2006 11:16 amI am at work and have nothing to do. Nothing. I've even asked for things to do. I have windexed the copier screens. I unboxed the week's supply of paper and stacked it neatly in the closet. I have organized my purchase orders by project, site, date and color. I have determined which superhero I am (Superman, though I cannot get the code to copy to show the little picture).
Hudson fell in the bathtub last night. It was hugely entertaining. For some reason he likes to sit on the edge of the tub, presumably to attack the aquatic toe monster should it surface. But last night he decided to take a little promenade along the edge of the tub. There's an old track still on there from the sliding doors we took down, so he kept having to adjust his paws. One in the track, one to the outside. One outside the track, one to the inside. When he tried both sets of paws to the inside of the door track, he started sliding.
It was like a slo-mo scene in a horror film. He sort of flattened out, and tried to grab something with his front paws. Then his back end started sliding in to the tub. One paw, tail, other back paw, whole back end. All the while with this look of abject horror on his face.
He managed to pull himself out before he touched bottom, but was wet from the hocks down. Then he contrived to calmly saunter off, after checking to see if I had noticed anything (which, of course, I had not. I never notice when Hudson does something so inelegant). Apparently he made it to the parlor, where he shook himself all over while cursing.
He's had a cold lately...I think it threw him off.
