Dear Mr. Hudson-

Why did you find it necessary to wake me up at 630? I was awake until almost two a. m. cuddling you, and actually let you sleep on the bed, under the covers. Your box is clean, your food and water are filled, and there aren't any squirrells hanging around the windows. I don't believe you needed companionship that badly, especially since once I realized I wasn't falling back to sleep you buggered off and are now hiding in Katrina's playhouse.

See if I play "mouse under the blanket" with you again any time soon.

Sincerely,

me

This is why our cats don't get to come into the bedroom anymore. Hugo would come in purring, only the Maine Coon purr is more like a broken combustion engine with chirping, leaving little love bites on whatever body part of mine was sticking out from under the blanket until I agreed to pet him. His loudess would also wake up our kid nine times out of ten. (And then the kid would freak out yelling, "Hugo fell! Hugo fell!" until I removed him)

Our other cat, Sookie, is very gentle and nice to sleep with by comparison, except for her unfortunate tendency to want to sleep on top of people. (She's not a lightweight kitty.)

So, yeah, no cats in the bedroom anymore. I miss them at times, but I'd miss sleep more.

Bed hockey at three in the morning is why I sleep with the bedroom door shut, and always have. If the cats don't get used to sleeping in the bed, they don't yowl at the door when I close it (at least IME -- the guys never did, and the girls don't).
