Yesterday was pretty rough with Katrina, today mostly makes up for it so far. I forgot that Sunday school has started so we were a little late for that, but I ended up getting a free 40 minutes with the other mommies well the kids were in class to drink our caffeine and chat. Then church, then the Youth Group lunch, then choir practice. We didn't get home until 230, but my only exciting plans for today were to go to Costco, so I don't really mind missing out on that.

After a lot of talking with a lot of medical people, I stopped doing that two hours of cardio a day and am now just lifting heavy. I feel much, much better, and my knees are the best they've been in a long time. So yay! I have that endocrinologist appointment next month and hopefully we will sort out why my body is hanging on to my extra weight so tenaciously. Until then I'm just going to concentrate on lifting. I like it better anyway, and it seems to be doing me a lot of good in the past three weeks.

On a related note, I went a little earlier than usual on Friday and the weight room was completely deserted. I had a bit of a Lion King moment. "Everything the light touches..."

Bruce managed to get overtime today, so he won't be home until after midnight. I'm going to try to use the extra time to finish up the laundry and get things under control at the house. We've been so busy trying to settle into the new routine that I feel like things have really slipped tidiness-wise.

While cute & fun, spouses can occasionally be underfoot & interfere with Getting Things Done.
